But Balloons are also great things to do stuff with. You can use Balloons in various ways. They can be made into Decorative Faces or even for protecting your Finger after a small Cut.
Protecting a Bandaged Finger Bandaging a minor Injury on your Finger maybe easy. But it is also Important to protect it from getting wet. Don't want your Bandage to get wet? Just slip a balloon over your Finger. This way, your Bandage can stay dry even when you wash clothes or take a bath!

A Special Party Invitation Your Birthday is coming up shortly in a week? Alright then, this time send all your Friends a Special Kind of Invitation. Balloon Invitations can be of two kinds. 1. Blow Invitation - These can be real fun. Take a Deflated balloon and with the help of a permanent marker, write all your Details. Your friends have to Blow the Balloon to read what is written.

2. Burst Invitation - On a small sheet of Paper, write your Party details. Then put it inside a Big Deflated Balloon. Then start blowing into the Balloon. Your Friends will have to Burst the Balloon to read the Invitation.

Create a Balloon Face! You can actually make a Funny Balloon face with a number of different Balloons. What you will need is one Big Balloon, two small squeaky balloons, three oval balloons, glue and a black marker pen. Inflate all your Balloons. Now take your Big Balloon and stick two oval balloons to it as eyes. Next stick another oval balloon for the nose. Take the two squeaky balloons and stick them to the nose as a mustache. Now with the help of your Marker Pen, draw the Eyes and the mouth.

ADT alarm for your home security

Since the day we were born, we are looking for a security for our-self, a kind of security which makes us look for something to hold on. More than you might imagine, when idealized through the eyes of some very creative Japanese artists.

You will be amazed at what can be done with a few straight lines and a push to think outside of a very ordinary box.

UPC symbols are ubiquitous and constant reminders that we are a civilization of consumers. Up until now, there was no distinguishing one from the other.

That’s all changed since a Japanese company named D-Barcode came up with some very creative and innovative ideas on how to make these uninteresting lines actually enjoyable to look upon.

It is said that barcodes are the bane of the modern graphic designer. Many distribution people compound the headache by insisting on conspicuous white rectangles, which may or may not fit the context involved. The changes are little and subtle, and yet at the same time, enormous.
Now picking up a bottle or box at the supermarket may bring a smile to your face, not because of a price reduction but rather form a funny unexpected face or form smiling back at you from the label on the back of the package.
This enhancement of the consumer experience is brilliant on many levels. But why keep talking? Check out these cool barcodes and judge for yourself!

Google Office In Zurich

Damn, don't you want to work...ehem...(what work?!) in Google? I’m sure most of us don’t even get a fraction of what those guys have. Without being envious, I think its time we spoke to our bosses and at least got some funky looking gadgets on our desks! Like this Conference System that looks like an odd UFO or something. I’m sure if we look into its specs, we’ll find something to rave about it to THE BOSS.

Dishy to look at, the system features an extra-flat Hi-Fi speaker disk along with a detachable remote. The system is hooked up to Wi-Fi so that you are always on the top of the latest buzz. It automatically updates you on the company’s contact book, calendar, meetings alarm, business trip schedule reminders and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Moving on to the remote, it’s like a solid piece of cylinder in your hands. It has a touch dial interface that comes to life when you use it. Color codes differentiate between incoming messages, voice mails and calls. To keep it going, it tanks up using Induction technology.
Sour gapes or whatever! If can’t have a Google Office then I want this!

Designer: Guillaume Bordas

Wrist Headset Bluetooth

Every once in a while, some new concept comes out that is actually a good idea. We have been seeing a lot of wrist watches that can act as mobile phones lately, but I think we are just creating those to fulfill some vintage Dick Tracy fantasy. This is one concept wrist phone device that won’t require you to talk to your wrist.
The On Time Headset System is a bracelet that comes with a pop-out wireless headset. I suppose that is a better place to put your Bluetooth headset than your pocket.

The bracelet has a secondary display, so if your headset rings, you can just look down and see who is calling. I would imagine that the bracelet display can show the time, making it a very fancy wristwatch.

By the way, did I mention that the displays are both touchscreens? Well, they are, and they would hopefully not require tiny fingertips in order to use.

My source referred to the OnTime Headset System as the “future of bling”, and I can’t help but feel that it is about time that tech and bling combined to create something like this. Well, as I mentioned before, this is only a concept, but I already want it on my wrist.

Lighting Tea Bag

Surely you caffeine addicts will agree, coffee truly is the sexually oriented drink - It picks you up! It illuminates your world, if I may say so. Designer / Bookmark Maker Wonsik Chae takes this concept to an elegant level by making the drop-in tea bag light up your environment chemically. For those whose eyes are sensitive to brightness in the mornings, I recommend a different cup. For those who love lamp(s), drop it!

As the tea bag empties its taste into a tea cup, so does the “Lighting Bag” empty its light into any fluid-holding container. What Wonsik hopes to accomplish with this project is to tear down the idea that creating forms from which light can be projected must be a difficult task - he wants light forms to flow easily.

Having a manifesto for your industrial design project can be a dangerous rope to walk - what do you make of Wonsik’s liquid light concept?
<img style="cursor: pointer; You want your car to stick-out and keep the streets bright, right? How would you like your car to be uniquely coded to open and activate based on your touch- your fingerprints and more? Ask Enache Florin to hand the plans over. Here is the Peugeot “Touch.”

Designer Enache Florin keeps your car private, maybe:

[The Peugeot Touch] has a light weight body that in some areas, like the doors, are placed touch-sensitive sensors and finger recognition. [These sensors ensure that] only the owner can use the car. Everything is opened [and activated] by touch. The lights compose symbols made out of LED’s, in this way the car has it’s own identity at night. This associates the car with its parent company, identifying it uniquely as the Peugeot Touch.

Take note: if you want to ask questions about the logistics of the “Touch,” post comments below and Mr. Florin or one of his associates would be happy to answer some way or another, I’m sure.

1. This is no inexpensive car, for sure, but once the price barrier is broken, will a car that’s gotta be programmed to it’s driver be a realistic goal?

2. How about if we take that feature and make it regular for lots of cars?

3. Speed Racer. Time-lapse photography’s gonna be hot with this one.

Designer: Enache Florin

Shefling or Desking Wallwave

When we go out and buy that big piece of furniture, we usually know exactly what it’s for. The lamp lights up from the back and shine through against the wall creating interesting lighting effects.

Designer: Gary Chang

Crystal Telephone

It seems in regard to electronic design, touchscreens are in and anything tactile is out. Pressing each crystal illuminates it like a transformer’s energon cube. For when you want ice in a nice place, there is the “Iced Carafe.” Design team “Officeoriginair” brings you what’s basically a simple contraption, made simply for having wonderful time! Molded plastic with a rubber stopper, made in such a fashion that if you freeze an amount of water in the bottle while it’s on it’s side, the ice will stay put!

Full on cold your entire drink experience.

The ice. It sticks to the inside of the bottle, on the side. It makes the whole drink cold. The whole time you drink it. And if you just sit there and wait to see if the ice will fall off into your drink, you’ll notice that once it does, it’s still a giant hunk of ice, a vertical piece of ice, which is still keeping your drink cold.

I think the design of the bottle is good enough. The idea is ok, and the implementation is not that special as the concept is very simple. One you use the ice for a few minutes, all the ices will be melted and blend in with the liquid, then there is no more interesting stuff to see.

Anyway, Viva vertical ice!

Handy Toaster

As far as innovative toasters go, I’ll stick with the VHS Toaster over this butter-knife type deal. At least with that one I wont accidentally toast my hand in the morning.
It’s a design concept by Kim Been that looks like a knife but is really a handheld toaster. All you need to do is run it across the bread until it’s toasted to your liking. An animated graphic shows you how you are doing, which your you should be able to see with your own eyes.

How are you going to get toasting power in this knife-thing? It would likely take awhile to toast your bread. It's just amazing when he play the harmony, from one octave to another. The way he dedicated his life to learn to play this instrument. I love this video since he also play the 'Joyful Joyful' song, although it's not Christmas, I think his music brings tranquility to us. Well, who knows if there are some record companies interested to make an instrument album. Hm....=) Good Job, keep up the good work!

Amazing Glass ! - More amazing video clips are a click away

Cool Iris

I just suddenly run into my add-on in Firefox Browser and found this really really cool add-on. Fitted with a car windscreen wiper you can vamoose that pesky condensation with one fail swoop. No more ugly wet hand marks or toilet paper fluff left on your looking glass and also doesn't it just look pretty slick? Quirky and practical, you'll always be able to see your lovely mug in this mirror.

My additional idea is: to have the mirror shape design patterned by the wiper way, sort of curved and put a holder under the mirror to take the dripping water from the wiping and collect all the water in one place in the bottom of the mirror.

I wonder if they have an automatic wiping or not. But manual wiping with the wiper is still cool (no cable or wiring).

Chromed Steel Dart Coat Hooks

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Despite the lifestyle reason, I think BB will make a new way of culture in our life. How BB will shape our ethic, how we socialize, how we can always communicate with other like the world has no boundary. It has it's own good and badness...As long as we can use it wisely, it should be OK. Even though some people will become addicted to BB (they call it Crackberry for the addiction to BB), I believe someday they will get bored or somehow, people will realize how BB took their time vigorously. Should I say people using their BB for messaging, they also use it mostly for Facebook. They communicate and comment about a lot of stuff that their friends and relatives do. Somehow BB and Fb keep us closer, and ironically BB does makes us further apart phisically. The advantage or the disadvantage depens on us. Should we be the slave of the technology, or can wes use technology to ease our hectic life? Just like the pager-cellphone era, it will definetly shape our lifetime. But telephone did help our life a lot. How about BB and Fb? Not that I say it's not helping at all, but this will be a simple friendly reminder for us not to be carried away to forget how to have a great social ethic and how we really need to meet each other and really really socialize. Looking forward for the great future technology ahead!

Evolution of Dance 1 & 2

Evolution of Dance, a toe-tapping journey through the history of dancing styles, is one of the most popular YouTube videos of all time, second only to Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” music video. But how do you make money off more than 109 million views?

Judson Laipply, the motivational speaker/comedian and dynamic dancer behind the original Evolution of Dance, is trying to figure that out, with today’s release of Evolution of Dance 2.

Debuting on The Today Show, the new video is an awful lot like the old one, with Laipply dancing in his trademark Orange Crush shirt before a live college audience — just with new, licensed songs (Fergie’s “London Bridge” among them). Laipply couldn’t include advertising in the original video because the songs weren’t licensed, although they were a part of motivational speaking routine about life, change and how dance styles evolve through the decades.

The licensing for the new video wasn’t cheap, but it means Laipply could bring on some advertisers without attracting the recording industry’s ire. Evolution of Dance 2 (EOD2) has two sponsors: PeopleJam, a self-improvement and advice site and Saveology, a comparison shopping site that helps consumers find the best values online.

The chief executive of PeopleJam snagged the chance to plan and release EOD2 because he saw the video’s mission in line with the company as a resource for self-improvement. A few weeks ago, Evolution of You was launched as an interactive application (like OfficeMax’s Elf Yourself), allowing users to upload a picture of your head or someone else’s to dance along with Laipply. However, there is heavy promotion of PeopleJam and Saveology in the video everywhere, which could be a turn-off to fans of the original video. Fortunately the logos have been removed for the official Evolution of Dance 2 video.

There are even promotions tied in with the release of the Evolution of Dance sequel: an IBeatYou dance-off with a $5,000 prize and a sweepstakes to win a smart car. EOD2 isn’t even hosted on Laipply’s YouTube channel, but one controlled by PeopleJam, which makes it definitely feel more commercial than the original. While longtime fans of Laipply and the original Evolution of Dance may love the sequel anyway, it’s interesting how these sponsorships and promotions can change the tone of what began as a user-created video (the majority of videos on YouTube). Laipply attributes some of the success of the original video to the fact that it wasn’t overly slick and professional, and says that he intentionally chose to cut scenes and replicate a grainier look for the sequel, even though it was shot with multiple cameras (one of them being in HD) — “I think that is really important. Especially from user-generated content, people don’t want overproduced-looking videos.”

Momenta Necklace Captures Life’s Exciting Moments

The Momenta PC is a finalist in Microsoft’s Next-Gen PC Design Competition that you strap to your neck. With the push of a button, this remote becomes rigid and ready for use.
When it’s not in use, this concept remote just sort of lays there limp, pulsating with light. But when you touch it, the remote gets excited and becomes rigid.

Constructed of a soft, flesh-like gel, the remote appears cold when off. Once turned on, however, it seems to come to life. A soft light emanates somewhere from within as the center of the device begins to slowly rise and fall, mimicking the tranquil motions of breath. Left undisturbed, the remote will slumber peacefully. Buth should a human hand approach, sensors inside alert it to the imminent touch. It stops breathing, grows rigid – the light from within is extinguished.

Apple Dish

You know when you eat an apple you don’t know when to put the apple core and as it often happens there’s no bin nearby or you can’t throw the core that far. I’d rather get up and walk to a bin and throw the core out then put in on a dish and then walk to a bin, throw it out and then wash the dish. If you want, the apple should also comes in a changing colour from white to brown as it rotten. hehehe... Whenever you’re feeling like a child and want to do something fun or just need to relax simply get the marbles into the grooves on the table. The grooves run through the whole table and the marbles will roll down the legs to the feet of the table where they will in a small box so you won’t have to chase the marbles all over the room (despite what the photos show). Just place the snow in the top portion and close the lid, and the molds form three well-packed snowballs the size of softballs!
When the snowball is ready, you have to pull the elastoband like a slingshot. I thinks its a different experience than throwing it like a regular snowballs fight with your arms.

The Snowball Blaster is made for kids 8 years old and up. "Up," I take to mean big old kids like us.The size is good enough and not too heavy (17.5 x 5.5 x 12 inches, and it weighs 2.5 pounds). Sold by Hammacher Schlemmer, so you know it's a sturdy toy, because Hammacher has a lifetime guarantee on all of its products, how cool is that? It also comes with target practice posters.

I wonder if using a Snowball Blaster would still make me feel like a kid again, or maybe just make it easier for me to compete with the kids....

Refrigreator Design Lab Competition

Out of nine tremendously creative and functional household designs produced by the finalists in the 2008 Electrolux Design Lab competition , one design really stood out in the judges minds: The "Flatshare" Refrigerator, by Austrian design student, Stefan Buchberger, whose inspiration came from sharing a flat, of course.

The mess he described in his flat's refrigerator is familiar to most of us who have had roommates, so he came up with a way that everyone could keep their mess a secret from each other, by designing a "to each his own" modular refrigerator that is portable, so when you move, your fridge mess moves with you!
A fridge is a tricky thing to reinvent,” said Henrik Otto, head of Global Design for Electrolux and chair for the jury. “Flatshare, however, manages to be new in a fun and expressive way. It is made from food-safe and fully recyclable materials. It strategically decreases energy consumed throughout the product life cycle without sacrificing functionality, and enhances everyday consumer usage by offering an environmentally friendly experience.

The crazy idea of selling billions of gallons of water in everlasting plastic bottles to people who already have access to clean water sources is turning our planet into a gigantic garbage heap. Finally, somebody is doing something about that. Brandimage created the 360 Bottle made of paper, which is 100% renewable.

Nice. It's apparently an impossible task to convince a sizable portion of our population that there's no need to clutch a bottle of water like a baby with a pacifier all day long. So, might as well limit the amount of harm done. These paper bottles are good for just about any liquid, too — not just water.

If this idea can even make a dent in the 60 million plastic bottles tossed each day in the U.S., Brandimage deserves an award. Wait. The company received an IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) for this design. Bravo. Now if they could just get those silver-tongued water hucksters and bottle-sucking sheep to buy into it.

Source:

http://www.idsa.org/IDEA_Awards/gallery/2008/award_details.asp?ID=35918167

http://dvice.com/archives/2008/11/paper_water_bot.php

Wi-Fi Signal Status T-Shirt

Here is what I found funny and interesting, somehow useful, but I don't know how long will it last. The Wi-Fi shirt makes it easier to scan wi-fi connection in the area. The previous innovation was the key chain wi-fi detectors, but we still have to remove them from our pockets to look at them. But now thanks to the ingenious people, we can display the current wi-fi signal strength to ourselves and everyone around us. It's about US$29.99. Not the bubble gum kind... That's been solved, much to the pleasure of dentists around the world. No, these are the soapy bubbles from our youth, the bubbles that come in that tiny container with the little wand adorned with two circles (one thick, for large bubbles; the other thin, for multiple tiny bubbles). The bubbles that carry that delicious, soapy flavor when accidentally inhaled. And yes... I know that flavor from personal experience...
Now they come in colors. Not that I expect them to be flavored i.e. red is cherry, green is lime, etc. I expect they still retain that extra special soap flavor.

But they actually have true color now! These aren't the colors that a normal bubble would cause by refracting light. These are truly colored-purple, red, green, and more. It's pretty cool looking.

Past experiments that infused color into the thin membrane of soap that forms a bubble have resulted in several mishaps-mostly due to what happens when the bubble pops. The chemicals used would stain practically everything, from clothing to faces. Chemical burns were not uncommon (ouch).

Then there was the weight factor. The chemicals used for coloration would sink to the bottom of the bubble, weighing it down. And what's a non-floating bubble worth? Not much.

Inventor Tim Kehoe carried many of these woes. He even managed to turn his eyeballs blue when an experimental bubble popped in his face. Scary.

The first colored bubble was invented in Kehoe's kitchen; it was blue. He actually called his wife into the room to see the bubble because, after experimenting with hundreds of formulas over the years, he thought he was hallucinating. But this variation still carried a major issue: it stained everything it touched.

So he went back to the drawing board. And though his obsession with the colored bubble never dissipated, he had to support himself with various other ventures, including web site design and working for a toy firm that kept such a ruthless, regimented schedule that he saw grown men cry.

But it took a weekend of pure pressure for him to discover the secret of the non-staining colored bubble. Kehoe and his business partner, Guy Haddleton, had started an independent toy company. Kehoe had purposefully kept his experiments with colored bubbles secret, knowing that his partner would jump on the idea and expect results. But without a stainless bubble, the idea was moot. But he pitched the idea anyway. Haddleton gave him the weekend to come up with a formula that wouldn't stain everything it touched.

Kehoe proceeded to buy every soap product he could find, as well as every dye available, then pretty much destroyed his wife's kitchen with popping colored stains. But his efforts paid off-thanks in part to the discovery of an expensive, special ink product that he had not tried in the past. The bubbles would pop, but not permanently stain. He had found his breakthrough.

He unveiled this product in July of 2004-and managed to freak out kids and parents alike. Though the bubbles would not leave a permanent stain, they would still discolor both skin and clothing. Parents don't like their kids walking around with multi-colored arms and faces.

So... Kehoe went back to the drawing board yet again in search of a water-soluble colored bubble that would disappear upon popping.

Enter Ram Sabnis, a dye chemist who thought that Kehoe's goal was obtainable. In February of 2005, he broke the code and devised a manner to create colored bubbles that easily washed away upon bursting and did not leave any residue behind.

Intro

Hello all, this will be the future great blog about cool, interesting stuff in life.
As the blog name is KELV (Kewl-Eccentric-Loveable-Versatile).
